Eytan Klawer · Founder, Liora Senior Care

After 25 years in mission-driven work, building the business that matters most.

Before starting Liora, Eytan spent nearly three decades leading teams at mission-driven businesses — the kind where the customer has something real at stake, and where listening carefully to them is how the work actually gets done.

At Study.com, he led product for adult education, helping teachers and nurses prepare for the licensure exams that would shape their careers. Before that, he was VP of Product at EverFi (now part of Blackbaud), in prevention education for universities and employers. He co-founded a startup focused on sexual harassment prevention training, later acquired by Vector Solutions. Earlier in his career, he led product development at LawRoom, a legal-compliance training company.

The throughline across those 25 years: serving people with real stakes in regulated, pro-social industries, and building operational discipline around listening to customers and delivering what they actually need.

In 2025, that career took a turn.

Six months that changed the path.

In August 2025, Eytan joined an East Bay home care company as General Manager — a role offered to him by a friend and mentor in the industry.

Those six months were where he learned what it actually takes to operate a home care business day to day: recruiting and supporting caregivers, building schedules that hold, navigating hospital discharges, answering the phone at 2 a.m., and earning the trust of families in the middle of the hardest moments of their lives.

He’s deeply grateful to the friend who took him in and taught him the work. Without those six months, Liora wouldn’t exist.

In January 2026, Eytan left to start Liora.

The reason this work, now.

Eytan’s father has Parkinson’s. His mother has been his primary caregiver.

There was a period when his dad was falling more and more, and his mom — getting older herself — kept getting hurt trying to catch him. The family was close to having two patients instead of one.

They eventually found the right caregiver, and things stabilized. But the process of finding her was too hard, and Eytan knew most families wouldn’t get there as fast or as cleanly.

Liora exists because Eytan wanted the kind of care he’d feel good about choosing for his own parents to be easier for other East Bay families to find — not just for him, but for everyone navigating some version of the same thing.

About the name.

Liora means bringer of light. For us, it speaks to the kind of steady, reassuring presence families need in moments that can feel uncertain and heavy.
